Other Universes: Silhouette Characters in GDW's House Rules system

I'm a fan of Dream Pod 9's old role-playing games, Heavy Gear, Jovian Chronicles, and Tribe 8. These games use a custom system called Silhouette that utilizes only six-sided dice, with stats ranging from -3 to +3 and skills ranging from 1 to 5. This post is the start of a means of converting these characters to either MegaTraveller or the House Rules system used in Dark Conspiracy, Twilight 2000 v2.2, and Traveller: The New Era. Planned future posts will look at personal weapons and armor.



Characters in Silhouette games have 10 core statistics, each with a three letter acronym: Agility (AGI), Appearance (APP), Build (BLD), Creativity (CRE), Fitness (FIT), Influence (INF), Knowledge (KNO), Perception (PER), Psyche (PSY), and Willpower (WIL). Most of these are fairly straightforward, with Psyche being the general psychological attitude of the character. All stats vary from -3 to +3. If two stats are combined, they provide an overall range of -6 to +6. House Rules characters vary from 1 to 13 (with training). This implies that taking two stats and adding 7 will convert from Silhouette to House Rules. Going from 10 stats to 6, I wanted to use every stat at least once and no stat more than twice, so here are my suggested conversions for CT or MT:

Strength: BLD + FIT + 7
Agility: AGI + FIT + 7
Constitution: BLD + PSY + 7
Intelligence: CRE + PER + 7
Education: KNO + WIL + 7
Charisma: APP + INF + 7

For TNE/T2K/DC/C&D, subtract 1 from all of these stats

All derived stats should be calculated per the GDW game in use.
